Show Notes

Nicole Stewart knew the Raleigh City Council needed more female representation, younger people serving, and different viewpoints. It just took her a while to realize she was the best person to start filling all of those roles. Now, after being overwhelmingly re-elected to a second term, she sits down with us to talk about what she learned the first time around, and what she'll be focusing on in the next term.

She shares some of her goals and plans, including how Raleigh can combat climate change through land planning and transportation changes, what cities she's looking to crib ideas from and--oh yeah--how she did finally end up being pushed into the role of running for office instead of finding people to run for office.

Ashton and Hayes also discuss the plans for Freedom Park downtown, a championship for the Courage, and another Top Chef coming to town. And we share our picks and your nominations for the #Top3Raleigh scariest places.

Special thanks to our sponsor, Steele Residential--check them out for buying, selling or renting!
